JULIET APPLEBY COUNSELLING

ABOUT ME
I am a person-centred counsellor, with an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy, with distinction, from the University of Salford. I am also training as a counselling psychologist and am in the final year of a 3-year doctoral training at the University of Roehampton. In my counselling psychology training I have received a further year’s training in person-centred therapy; a year’s training in psychodynamic therapy; and am completing the training with a year’s training in cognitive behaviour therapy. I have also completed additional training in Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I have worked with many people experiencing multiple challenges including anxiety, low mood, ill-health, bereavement, family and relationship challenges, domestic abuse, sexual violence, eating distress, body dysmorphia, and work difficulties including bullying and harassment. I have experience working with adults and older adults, neurodivergent and neurotypical clients, in multiple settings including private work, and charity and NHS services. I have undertaken specialist training in domestic abuse, bereavement and trauma. I have a wealth of life and work experience, and a background in charity and local authority work, including social services and homelessness.
